Northern Michigan University Join us for a professional development retreat, hosted by the Northern Michigan University Sustainability Office and Ed.D in Educational Sustainability Program to meet in-person with sustainability leaders from local colleges and universities to network, share about your work and find inspiration for your future sustainability efforts. The retreat will also offer sessions centered around the intersectionality of sustainability, education, and higher ed. These sessions will be led by knowledgeable UMACS steering committee members, NMU faculty, and EdD Doctoral students who are working on the frontline of sustainability within their campuses and communities.
Agenda: Monday, June 8 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Check in at NMU 1 p.m. - Retreat session begins with campus & town tour 3 p.m. - Walk the Cultural Trail (or Canoe / paddleboard) the Dead River and tour Presque Isle Park 6 p.m. - Group Dinner (Bodega or Iron Bay) / Sunset hike up Sugarloaf Tuesday, June 9 8:30 a.m. - Breakfast at Northern Lights Dining (check out of room if not staying 6/9) 9:30 a.m. - Tour Recycle906 (County MRF) 11:00 a.m. - Tour Partridge Creek Compost & Farms in Ishpeming 12:30 p.m. - Lunch at the farm (?) or Rare Earth Goods Cafe 2:00 p.m. - Return to campus and wrap-up experience Questions?
