UMACS 2025 Conference

Advancing a More Sustainable and Just Upper Midwest

CONFERENCE SUSTAINABILITY

We are very grateful for Luther College’s Center for Sustainable Communities for the many ways that they are supporting this conference and we hope that you attend one of their Campus Sustainability tours to learn more about their work.

In order to make the conference more sustainable, please note the following:

  • Please bring a water bottle. There will not be cups/glasses at Friday night’s dinner at Luna Valley Farms so this is important!
  • There will be no printed materials given to conference attendees, please download the conference app on your mobile phone.
  • All waste will either be recyclable or compostable. If you need help learning how to sort your waste, Luther students will be happy to help!
  • Please return your nametag lanyard at the end of the conference so we can reuse it in the future.

Luther Sustainability: Established in 2003, the Center for Sustainable Communities has strived to further a shared mission of inclusive community in a model that challenges the dominant paradigm. Our carbon-neutral and zero waste campus culture connects people to place and campus to community through transformative experiential education. Luther is a partner and a leader in enhancing equity and community resilience on campus, in Decorah, and throughout the Driftless Region with a national reputation for academic excellence and sustainable innovation. We continue to honor and care for the land, water, and resources as both our indigenous and Norwegian ancestors have, as they are our loved elders, to whom we owe our lives.
Thank you for doing your part!
