UW Oshkosh Makes Sustainability an Essential Learning Outcome
In spring semester, 2008, the UW Oshkosh Faculty Senate included sustainability in a set of Essential Learning Outcomes for the university.
As part of Liberal Education Reform at UW Oshkosh, the Faculty Senate approved a set of Essential Learning Outcomes for all UW Oshkosh students.
Included in the category of "Responsibility, as Individuals and Communities," is "Knowledge of sustainability and its applications." UW Oshkosh is one of the few universities in the country that have explicitly made sustainability an essential part of its university-wide essential learning outcomes.
