Second Call for Proposals

2010 UMACS Conference

We are now accepting proposals for sessions at the 2010 conference of the Upper Midwest Association for Campus Sustainability, April 9-10 at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

For details and online submission of your proposal visit the UMACS website.  Deadline for submissions is February 1, 2010.  Click here for a downloadable Call for Proposals PDF file.

Nuts, Bolts, and Stories of Success is the theme for the 2010 conference.  This two day gathering will provide the latest in sustainability practices across a spectrum of hot topics, reinforced by case studies, stories, and posters from a wide range of campuses throughout the region.  UMACS encourages faculty, students, staff, & administrators (individually or as teams) to submit proposals.  This is an opportunity to tell your story, highlight your campus sustainability projects, and share detailed information on what works on your campus.

Proposals will be accepted in any area, but some Hot Topics include:

  • Academic & Co-Curricular Programming
  • Climate Action Plans
  • Comprehensive Sustainability & Master Planning
  • Energy Conservation & Efficiency
  • Grounds Maintenance & Habitat Restoration
  • Local Food Systems and Composting
  • Localized Carbon Offsets
  • Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Resell Ideas
  • Renewable Energy Production
  • Sustainability-Based Integrated Planning
  • Socially Responsible Investment & Financing
  • Others??  You Tell Us!

Proposals will be accepted for presentations, posters, how-to workshops, and brief case studies.  If you have questions about the 2010 conference, please contact Kelly Cain at kelly.d.cain@uwrf.edu or 715-425-3479.
